My brother and his wife are in town with their children for the week. Our children are close in age--off a little less or a little more than a year-- so it works out great, especially for our oldest daughters who've been inseperable this whole time.
Yesterday we went berry picking up in Arlington. As we were coming in to the country Annalise told Madeline, "Watch out for horses, because they are my favorite animal."
Ten minutes later, Madeline broke a silent car by say, "Annalise: Watch out for elephants, because they're my favorite."
To which she replied, "Elephants aren't going to be up here!"
Madeline: "Then watch out for my other favorite animals."
Annalise: "Like maybe giraffes?"
Madeline: "Yeah." Then the car was quiet for a few more minutes.
You know these berries are begging to be mushed, sugared, cooked and jarred. Mmmm.The berry farm was fun. The raspberries weren't ready so it was just strawberries for me. I'd like to go up in a week or two, depending on the fickle sun, to pick the raspberries for jam.

Madeline's world--I want it! How great that anything is possible and everyone is (mostly) happy and good. She sees the cup 1/2 full--of whip cream for her strawberries!
Did you go to Remlinger farm? We love going there to pick berries. I totally want to pick some raspberries this year!
