I really can't think of any interesting topics to write about, no anecdotes to tell. but i'll write an update, or checklist, of my activities this past week. shopping done. check. (except some gift cards to a mall for the teenagers in my life--it's golden to them and easy for me--and a book i couldn't find yet for my dad--i'm getting those all tomorrow.)
wrapping done. check.
cookies and candies made. check.
extra calories on my ample arms and supple thighs from said cookies and candies. check. check.
visit to Santa at the mall. due to snow, this hasn't happened. but since i told Annalise that i spoke with Santa on the phone, she's in no hurry to get to the mall. we will try tomorrow when i get the last gifts of Christmas.
sneeze and cough a lot now that things are slowing down and the festivities are about to begin. check.
drive a few times in icey snow and have gratitude to the other drivers who exhibit more patience and courtesy than normal. check.
read a lot to my daughters now that there is more cuddle time together.
keep glancing at the Christmas tree wishing i could figure out what is missing or not right. because there is something unbalanced about it. check. but still no decor epiphany.
deep clean and organize the swamp we call our bedroom. check.
wish i had more time to watch my favorite Christmas movies. check. (after all, it's easy to check off intentions...)
drink delicious hot chocolate and, now that i have a sore throat, hot cider. check. yummy check.
look at pictures of my beautiful new nephew. check.
worry about the balance of gifts between my two girls. check.
have my husband call me, Carol (my mom), because of this activity. check.
have me say thank you, because it just means i'm a good mom. check.
wish my girls could open some presents early. check.
wish this holiday wasn't going to abruptly end in a few days. check. over and again, check.
I hope you get everything on your checklist accomplished and have a Merry Christmas.

Ok your tree looks beautiful! Can you come do ours, well ours is fine but it won't stand up straight. Anyway, I love your tree and want to know whats on it. You have been very productive this week, much more so than I. Hope you guys have a very merry Christmas!
Ha!! That isn't a picture of my tree--it's just some random tree i found when i googled "Christmas" under images. I wasn't even thinking about my tree comment when i found that tree and chose it to post. That is so funny. No, if I could decorate like that and then put up a "my tree looks funny" comment...I would definetely be fishing for someone like you to say something like that!!
