Holiday Gift Ideas: post six

I love the idea of theme gift-giving.
It is just a matter of coming up with a theme.

If you are like me, having difficulty with coming up with the idea,
worry no more, my friend, because I have the idea for Christmas 2010.

Antlers.

Yes, Antlers!
Who doesn't love them?
Who doesn't have a strong gut-reaction to them?
...I know I do.

There is a special something that happens to my gut,
and my heart rate, when I walk into a room
and see sharp animal parts on the wall.

So here, for your viewing pleasure,
some antler-inspired gift ideas.
Or some little something-somethings for yourself, perhaps...

Let's start with the traditional antlers-on-a-plaque:

Next:
Why just look at the antlers from a far? Why not put those antlers to good use as decor for functional items, like lamps?

Please, if you place the lamp on the floor for even just one minute,
don't fall directly onto this lamp.
Consider yourself warned.

Now that you have that wonderful one-of-a-kind (please say this is the only one in existence!) lamp, where are you going to put it?

If your wagon-wheel coffee table has become less than sturdy lately,
consider investing in one of these bad boys:
Again, a few words of caution:
if for some reason you take the glass off,
don't fall onto this...
because it might break from your weight,
and that would be tragic.

didn't you once say that your former dining room light fixture reminded you of antlers?

yes. it is sad, that light fixture.

we had some friends over for dinner a few weeks ago and i was talking to the mother about some light fixtures in the living room that i purchased at IKEA. he asked if the chandelier above us was something i bought at IKEA too. i quickly stated that i would never purchase the chandelier above us.

i believe i included a picture of that chandelier in a post a few months ago.
